The Ace of Bass

Hi I'm Rob and I'm 58. I've been involved in music since the age of 10. I can play just about any instrument in a rock band and own them all but my main instrument is 6 string bass. I own and can play my own kit. I have a ludwig set, all maple 7 ply shells. It's a black, 6 piece setup, 8,10,12,14,16,22 inch bass drum, a 6,8,10 set of roto toms and 6 cymbals. I have 12 drum mics along with an 18i20 by Scarlett and an extra preamp to work with it by Behringer. Fiber optic cables to connect them. 2 JBL studio monitors and a JBL Sub. I have a 7 string Schecter Hellraiser guitar with sustainiac pickup setup, A Jem, a Strat, an Ibanez RGT1270PB, a 4,5 and 2 6 string basses, a 12 string and 6 string electric/acoustics and 2 synthesizers by Yamaha. An Ampeg Stack for my basses and a Roland jazz chorus for my guitars. I also have a Fender Rumble 200, 200 watt bass amp that was my first. I use bass and guitar pedal boards when needed. I also played bass trombone from 4th grade till 12th grade although I haven't read bass clef since high school. I've been learning how to use protools and a drum track creating program. I love learning how to record. I can do some background vocals as long as my instrument parts are not too complicated. I like Rock and Metal, country and classical, contemporary Christian and Classic. If it sounds good to me, then I'll usually try to figure it out on one instrument or another. I've figured out and played for a long time whole albums by Rush, Dream Theater, Kamelot, Priest, Sabbath and Maiden. The Blizzard of Oz, Dio and any number of bands from that era. I can play a bunch of Kenny Chesney and on and on. If you would like to hear me play, there are songs on YouTube under a band I used to play with in Baltimore called "Hysterical Society". A good way to get an understanding of my writing ability is to listen to the sample of a song called "A New Beginning" off of the cd Live at Club 66.I love to write my own songs. and bass parts. Ultimately I would like to join or build an all original band. I have a number of tunes that I would consider Hits if I could find the right people to work with me. I'm a woodworker by trade. I have my own shop and company. An ex automotive technician and can fix just about anything. I have 2 pickup trucks so getting my gear somewhere is not a problem, and other than music I love my wife and my dogs, astronomy and racin'.
